Benefits of Indian Gaming and its role in Global Development of Tribal
Benefits of Indian Gaming and its role in Global Development of Tribal Nations Indigenous peoples throughout the world have suffered and continue to suffer ever since white people stepped foot onto their lands. In the Americas, countless incidents of genocide and blatant violations of human rights have occurred time and time again. Those indigenous to North America, known commonly as Indians or Native Americans, have faced an immense amount of racism, hatred, and oppression on the very same land that was once their own, before it was stolen by the colonists. Native Americans have faced economic hardships that are unmatched by any other race in the United States; the statistics are absolutely staggering and horrifying to know that such impoverished communities and hardships still exist in America, the land of opportunity, a country that has surpassed all others in virtually all aspects. Fortunately, within the past decade there has been a significant rise in political participation and economic growth within Indian communities, which is largely contributed to by the rise of Indian Gaming, perhaps the most controversial subject affecting Indian country today. However, Indian Gaming, through economic development, proves to be a gateway to international and national recognition and affirmation of tribal sovereignty, encouraging self-determination among Native American tribes. The three objectives of this essay are to provide summaries of Federal Indian policy and the special federal-tribal relationship that allow Indian Gaming to take place, to describe the benefits of Indian Gaming on tribal economies and politics, and to discuss how this has contributed to participation of Native Americans on an international level and the fair... ...W. Importance of Time Essay
Time is said to be eternal. It is said that it has neither a beginning nor an end. Yet men are able to measure it as years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. They have also given meanings to the words ââ¬â past, present and future. True, time has a meaning. It moves.Yet time is said to have no holiday. It exists always. Every movement of creation is linked with time. One cannot grow paddy in a month nor can a child become an adult in a year. Everything is fixed . Time is a free force. It does not wait for any one. It is commonly said that time and tide waits for no man. Time is money. A minute not usefully spent is an eternal loss. You can never get back the lost minute. One has to strike the iron when it is hot. The time flies and never returns. If you waste time it wastes you. To utilize time fruitfully, we must take concrete steps as to how we are going to use it and what we are going to do with it. There is a proverb which says that killing time is not a murder; it is a suicide. It means, by wasting time one is not harming others. On the other hand one is harming himself. A man who is a part of nature cannot complain against time. Time is powerful. It conquers all. Men are only to obey it. Man cannot say that he has nothing of his own. Time which is valuable is all his own. If you are not on time and miss the train, you miss it fore-ever. So also the time, once you miss it, it flies off. You can never catch it. Hence it is called fleeting time. Let us learn to use our time fruitfully. This is the key to success because time can create us or destroy us. It all depends on how we utilize time.

Website Comparison - 1794 Words
Introduction I have chosen two of the biggest broadband and telecommunication companies in Ireland for this website comparison. O2 and Vodafone are both leading distributors of mobile services for individuals and corporate clients providing them with solutions in communications. They are the two biggest competitors in the mobile networking industry in Ireland constituting for 88% of the total market. This market percentage is split between Vodafone and O2, 48% and 40% respectively. I have chosen these two websites for comparison for a number of reasons. I have been a frequent user of both sites, and am interested in the industry. One of the features that is provided on the Vodafone site is an interactive demo for Vodafone 360. Vodafone 360 is a service which allows customers to sync everything between your phone, PC or Mac. Some of Vodafone 360s main sharing options include: address book, maps, photos, apps, games, music and privacy settings. Although there is the option for social sharing and media sharing I believe this feature is aimed at data backup especially. With the ever increasing market in smart phones, users are storing a lot more data on their personal devices, so Vo dafone is really trying to emphasis the security and safety of sharing your files to back them up on your home or work computer. Being able to access work files or home files remotely is also becoming more and more popular and this is what Vodafone 360 aims to do. One feature which I found exceptionally helpful on the Vodafone website was its search feature. Located in the top right hand corner of the screen the search feature allows users to automatically locate what theyââ¬â¢re looking for. For example when you type in ââ¬Å"blackberryâ⬠into the search bar, you are returned with three options. These options are to see the full range of blackberryââ¬â¢s available in the online shop, a special offer on a specific blackberry and an FAQ and support centre on blackberry.Show MoreRelatedWebsite Comparison1801 Words à |à 8 Pagestelecommunication companies in Ireland for this website comparison.
